Today in church Spencer sat on my lap while sacrament was being passed. Like every other Sunday we give him the opportunity to partake of the bread and water, with a little help of course. Well this time he was eating some Cheerios as we waited for the water. (Church was full because of baby blessings, and we had to wait a little longer for a new filled tray). While helping Madison get a cup, Spencer grabbed one and began drinking. Everything was fine until he started to take the cup out of his mouth. From his mouth and into his cup came munched-up cheerios mixed with water, and then, in his attempt to replace the cup he accidentally dumped the contents all over the tray. Yep, there were cheerios and backwash floating everywhere. It even fell into some of the filled cups. My intention was to quickly remove all the gross water but before I could do that Megan had passed the tray on to the next person. The deed was done, nothing I could do about it, and ever so embarrassing. So a little advice for those of you who find yourself sitting next to a family with little children during sacrament: check your water!

I'm laughing so hard! Thankfully we weren't sitting next to you guys! ...and I ALWAYS check my water in this ward! You just never know!! :)
I never thought about having to check the water...I'm thinking that I should have before now. I seriously had the best laugh about your story. And here I was thinking I should be mortified by Ellie taking more than one piece of bread. I guess I need to remember there are worse things that could happen.
That is so funny! Gross but funny! I can only imagine some of the conversations after sacrament. That is really funny!
oh no! we have not had that happen... yet, my kids sometimes just take a handful of bread.
I guess I should check the water also....Really funny though...I am sure everybody understood though,
That is really funny. I have never thought of checking the water. Makes sense. I will from now on!
Good thing I always look down into the water before I drink. That's funny.
