Boys and their hair

For school-"wet & slick", no help accepted.

Skyler came home from school one day very sure that it was now time to start growing out his hair. I thought this to be a great opportunity for a little self expression. Nothing harmful I thought. I was okay with the idea of his hair growing an extra inch or so. Well a month passed and I was sure he was ready to get a hair cut. I suggested a trip to the barber but he was adamant that nobody touch his hair. After another month of enduring the long sideburns, I secretively started devising a plan to cut his hair while he was asleep. A hair cut was now becoming a necessity. But no, this kid was determined. He explained to me that his best friend at school was growing out his hair and that "Zac Efron"(for those of you who do not know who he is, he is the main character in High School Musical) was so cool with his surfer-dude hair. I could not believe my ears. What was happening to Skyler? Growing up? No way! My little, innocent, six year old was no longer any of these things. So when you see Skyler in the neighborhood or at church please don't think of him as neglected but understand that we are in the process of transforming him into "a cool dude".

I love the new look! (of the blog...) So funny about the hair! My boys did the same thing...it is torture as a mother! Loved hearing about how you tried to cut it in his sleep! I'm still laughing!

Wow!! I have never seen Skylar with out really short hair! That is so funny. He really looks a lot like Jon. I think that he is very handsome with short hair or long!!

I'm glad Skylar is picky about his "looks" too. Graham is always worried about his hair. The other day after school he wanted me to do it again for him because he didn't think it looked good anymore...I thought girls were supposed to be hard?
